Privacy Policy
Last updated June 8, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Founders Hive collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Founders Hive ("Founders Hive", "we", "us") operates the website and membership community at this domain. We respect your privacy and only collect the data we need to run the service. By using Founders Hive you agree to this policy.
1. Data we collect
- Account & billing data — your name and email, which membership plan you have, your subscription status and renewal dates. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
- Founder profile — information you choose to provide during onboarding (e.g. your startup name, website, stage, role, field, what you're looking for, and social links).
- Community data — if you join our Discord, your Discord account is linked to your membership, plus messages and check-in responses you share with our community assistant.
- Technical data — basic information such as IP address and browser type, and cookies needed to keep you signed in (see our Cookie Policy).
2. How we use your data
- To provide your membership, process payments, and manage renewals.
- To match you with relevant mentors, resources, founders, and investors.
- To send you transactional and community emails (welcome, onboarding, account, and check-in messages).
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of contract (to deliver the membership you paid for), legitimate interests (to run and improve the community and keep it secure), consent (for non-essential cookies and optional communications), and legal obligation (e.g. tax and accounting).
4. Service providers we share data with
We share data only with the providers needed to run Founders Hive, including:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Discord — community access and the assistant bot.
- Our email provider — to send transactional and community email.
- Hosting & database providers — to operate the application.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you hold a membership and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@foundershive.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
8. Children
Founders Hive is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app.
